This is a great scooter. My children love it. It is easily folded, and it has a built in brake to slow it down. It looks very sleek with its silver paint and clear wheels. It is not big and bulky but very svelte. I recommend this scooter wholeheartedly, your kids and even you will love it.

I bought this scooter for my daughter (7 yr old) and my husband was on it so much I had to buy another one. They take them everywhere. It is great for camping to get around the campgounds. It breaks down easily to store under car seats. I really recommend this scooter.

My son started kindergarten this year, half a mile away from our home. He didn't enjoy walking the distance, but the scooter solved the problem. He just LOVES scooting around the streets, and mastered the technique within a week. Now getting home is fun. The scooter moves and works great. All of the kids in NYC have them - I've even heard of a kid who mastered the skill at age 2. I was really confused when I was shopping for a scooter...I wasn't sure from reading the ads, whether this scooter was actually appropriate for a 4 year old. It's been fine. I highly recommend this scooter for kids who want to get around quickly.

We have three of these. They are easy to fold and adjust and keep the kids happy for ages. They are lightweight enough that if my three children ride them to school I can carry them home with no difficulty. (I'm 5ft 4in, and quite small)  My nine yr old son (a small natural disaster constantly looking for a place to happen) hasn't yet managed to break it, which speaks well to it's duability. The styling is quite basic but if you are only just thinking of buying one of these now, then you probably don't have kids that have to have the latest thing as soon as it appears. So styling shouldn't be an issue.  Even if it is, at this price - who cares?  Educational value? Well...teaches them to stand on one foot?  Not everything needs to be educational. Sometimes it's nice if toys are just fun.  Otherwise, why would we buy Space-Hoppers?

We bought one of these for our 5 year old daughter. Great value for money - very robust, light, easy to fold / unfold. I can't see any difference between this and other, much more expensive models - we're still looking for the catch......Would strongly recommend one and will buy more when our other children are old enough.

Razor PowerWing Caster Scooter

My kids, ages 6, 8, & 14 love this scooter. When they are at school, I ride it--I'm 39. Doesn't go as well uphill, or even a small incline, without manual pushes on the ground with your foot, but otherwise you can get it to roll around with both feet up, simply by swaying your body from side to side. It is an excellent design. I absolutely love it and so do my kids. Gets them out from behind the video games for a while.

I gave one of these to my 5 year old, rather active, grandson for Christmas 2007. He loves it, the neighborhood boys and girls his age and older love it, his 12 year old brother even loves it. Several neighbor parents have bought them for their kids, at least five. It is pretty safe and loads of fun. He wears a helmet but not the knee pads, etc. that are necessary with a skate board, and it does have a hand brake.  It goes with a kind of shifting motion like skating and can drift sideways to add to the thrill. He learned to do it very quickly. I gave the 12 year old a Rip-Stick which is a hit too, but not nearly as big as the Powerwing. The wing is for younger and less athletic kids, but seems like any kid can have fun on it. If you want to be the "cool" grandparent, get the Razor Powerwing.

My son is 8 and loves scooters. The Power Wing is one of his favorites. This scooter is easy to balance and turns fast. Good quality and easy to put together.

I bought this for my son who just turned 2. He had been obsessed with his sister's Disney pink scooter that he never could really get going on. This is great for his age - it is really wide so he can balance fairly easily and can just take off and go!

My husband bought this scooter for my daughter who will soon be two after seeing how much she wanted to ride the neighbor kids' razors. My daughter jumped up and down with joy after seeing the toy. As soon as she got on she knew what to do. This toy is so SAFE, in comparison to any other competition! The base for the foot is almost a foot wide. Also the two wheels in front help balance our child more so than the two wheel in back ones. It is also fun for her to sit down on the center portion and us to pull her around on it. It is made out of the same plastic material as the RadioFLyer wagons, so it is really durable. It did not break when I stood on it and I weigh 140. I am pretty sure it is not cleared for that heavy of a person..but I had to try it. Overall GREAT toy! Safer than a Trike too, since she is not having to climb over the middle section..she just steps off.

Fuzion Asphalt Ultimate Carving Machine Scooter

Fuzion Asphalt Ultimate Carving Machine Scooter

By     John B. Goode "JBG"  (Seattle, WA)

OMG! This thing is so much fun! I'm (censored) years old and I was looking for something more substantial than my kids' old Razor that I'd been using. I found this and I thought I'd give it a try. My other choice was a xootr but that thing is over $200 and looks like it's more of a fast commuter scooter. The biggest difference between the Fuzion and a regular scooter is the ability of the Fuzion to carve. The footplate tilts and the rear wheels turn at the same time effectively giving you 4 wheel steering and the ability to bank your body. In practical terms it means you can steer by throwing your body around by moving your center of gravity just like on a skateboard or skiing. It is this which makes the Fuzion much more fun than a regular scooter. Depending on your ability it'll just take you just a few sessions to master this and it's so much fun you'll get addicted to it.
After about 20 minutes on it I was twisting, turning, carving like a kid, and me with degenerative arthritis in my joints, a disc herniation in my back and runner's knees. This thing was so much fun that I tired my kids out before they tired me out.
It's really easy to put together, just a few minutes and they even include a couple of cheap wrenches in the box.
I highly recommend this to anyone over about 100lbs. Any kid lighter than that I recommend the Electron since I think they wouldn't be able to throw their body about enough to make the twists and turns that I could, since this scooter is kind of heavy and you need a bit of heft to do it. But if you're an adult you'll be able to take the handling to the limit. And I think I will get those longboard 70mm wheels that others here have recommended.

I haven't had this much fun for ages, it's even better than you know what. Two thumbs (with arthritis) up!

Razor Pro Model Scooter

Razor Pro Model Scooter

By     John P. Thiel "John T." (Astoria, Queens, New York City)

I bought an A2 for my wife, and because she didn't want to ride by herself--and I'm bigger and heavier--I bought this Razor Pro thinking it was simply made sturdier and nothing more. I also happen to be an avid cyclist of many years so I can really tell the differences.  Turns out there are huge differences between this Pro model and the others--to the point where I could say the others are toys and this is actually sports equipment/transportation.

* The stability in steering is much better on this one.
* The wheels are thicker, which I'm sure contributes to its ability to hold a line better--though I have to say the A2 is not bad either.
* It's faster, and since the ride is a lot more stable it's actually much safer to ride this going fast than the others.
* I believe this is actually made of a higher quality of aluminium.
* Overall it's made of a heavier construction more appropriate for those who are going to do more on it than go back and forth on the sidewalk.

Bottom Line: For the price difference here on Amazon (the A2 being about $40 and the Pro being roughly $50) it's worth it to spend the extra $10 on the Pro.  This isn't just a toy like the others. You can actually enjoy the ease and convenience of riding this thing to the store and back, or through the middle of an urban environment adding to both your enjoyment and convenience without having to lock it up outside when you enter a building--or being prohibited from entering a store like you would with Roller Blades without changing to shoes first.  And as a 5'10" adult male, I can say this is a better fit--though the A2 isn't bad either in that respect.

I am currently 15 and ride scooters all the time off jumps and have done a lot of crashes, spills, and wipe outs and this scooter still stayed together. On the other models they have not reinforced them enough and so i break them all the time i went thorough about 4 scooters and this one lasted me the longest. I have had it for about 9 months and it is still fine. I just need to buy new wheels and grips every once in a while which isn't a problem.

This scooter rocks and is an insane deal for $49! It's perfect not just for kids, but also for aging losers like myself that can't be bothered re-learning how to ride a skateboard!!  Razor Pro Model Scooter

Razor E100 Electric Scooter

Razor E100 Electric Scooter

I purchased this for my 8 year old. This has been a joy of his for quite a few months. It runs well, peppy and the battery seems to hold up for a very long riding period. He has had times in excess of 1 hr. riding around the house and driveway.
The only thing which is minor that annoys me is that when you corner very sharply the chain protector drags the pavement. No damage is done but it seems this part of the scooter should be higher off the ground.
Overly recommended for children of appropriate ages. Get your child one, they and you will not regret it.

Bought this for my nephew who just turned 6. - I was concerned with it beinig too fast, it's just right. he transitioned from push version to this in seconds!  Quality so far seems great, only area that could be better is the chain guard. - if he takes corners a little too tight, the guard gets scratched on the pavement. - Rear wheels should be a little bigger.
Otherwise, worth the $

This is super product, much loved by my son. That said, we found we needed to read ALL the instructions since the product needs to be reset occasionally otherwise it does not charge - leaving you with a very disappointed kid.
